ナナメ上↗︎上天草 Products Kamiamakusa: City of Flowers!

When you visit Kamiamakusa, you will find yourself in a colorful City of Flowers: fields of rape blossoms which are the first to announce the arrival of spring, Mt. Sengan and Iwa Sakura - Hana Park where you can see cherry blossoms in full bloom, a wide variety of cut flowers you can appreciate throughout the year, and Kamiamakusa Flower Festival!

Kamiamakusa, where you can enjoy flowers throughout the four seasons, has a mild climate suitable for flower cultivation. Therefore, flower cultivation began in the Oyano-machi region in 1927. Currently, the production value and shipment volume of cut flowers here are the highest in the prefecture. This is mainly greenhouse cultivation. This production value and shipment volume of cut flowers from Kamiamakusa will greatly exceed (NANAME-UE) your expectations. The main flowers produced here are common gypsophila, chrysanthemums, snapdragons and statices. Having won the highest award at the Kumamoto Flower Expo in the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award, the branded chrysanthemums are also popular as a gift.

Started mainly by young flower farmers, the Kamiamakusa Flower Festival is an event held once a year brimming with love for flowers. In addition to the sale of flowers, workshops on planting flowers together, herbariums and other topics are held and giant flower objects decorate the event. This has led to the festival being visited by more and more people every year.

A must-visit spot is the flower area at Michinoeki Kamiamakusa Sun Pearl. In addition to seasonal flowers shipped by flower farmers, this facility also sells accessories, interior decorations and more made with flowers including bouquet arrangements and dried flowers. These items are perfect as souvenirs! This is a roadside station where you can encounter seasonal flowers. Your mood will naturally be lifted by the colorful flowers here. It will greatly exceed (NANAME-UE) your expectations.
