The rice grown in Kamiamakusa crosses the sea, crosses the land, crosses the sea once again and is then turned into sake on Sado Island before returning home to Kamiamakusa. LIGHT PASS sake is made with a commitment to following that long journey.

There are many cases in which the producing area and brewing location are different. However, it is rare for regions with different lands and environments to work together like this. You can taste two hometowns in one bottle of sake. This makes it a sake which will truly exceed (NANAME-UE) your expectations.

LIGHT PASS has a light and fruity taste with a refreshing aftertaste. It also goes excellently with the ingredients and dishes of the seafood of Kamiamakusa and Amakusadaiou local pedigree chicken. Moreover, since it is cultivated on Sado Island, combining it with ingredients from Niigata may produce interesting pairings.

The name of LIGHT PASS comes from the koshihikari (light) produced in Amakusa and the dark red sunset (light) which sets over the islands floating in the sea. It expresses the idea that "light" has passed through these two islands of Amakusa and Sado to connect them together.

You can purchase LIGHT PASS from the website of the Amakusa Shiro Tourism Association. However, only about 2,000 bottles are made a year, so don't miss out! Please enjoy LIGHT PASS together with Kamiamakusa's kuruma shrimp and Amakusadaiou local pedigree chicken.
